Hand Dyed Fiber

Each fiber is hand dyed with care and attention to detail. Each fiber has a combination of various, colors, and techniques that make it a special one of a kind fiber. They are hand dyed with a small batch process so there may be some variations between braids. The color placement can vary from one braid to another because it is virtually impossible to get the colors in the exact same spot on every batch

I use several different dying techniques and methods to achieve the designs you see on the fiber. Some colorways are replicable while others are not. Please feel free to ask if you need more than one braid of a particular colorway. I use several different fibers so please read carefully to ensure that you are getting the proper fiber for your project especially since some fibers may be the same color but on a Super Wash base.

Super Wash is not generally recommended for wet felting as it can be harder to felt. It is not impossible but generally not the first choice for felting of that nature because it is harder to bond to other wool fibers because it has been treated to resist felting. It can still be needle felted, and I have used many times scrap pieces left over from dying or spinning for that purpose, but again generally it is a little harder to do, so please check all information given in the listing to make sure it is the right fiber for your project.

That being said Super Wash is a great fiber to use for spinning because your finished yarn is going to give you strength and durability as well as a resistance to felting and pilling. Super Wash fibers can be washed in the washing machine on a delicate cycle rather than having to hand wash them. This can be an advantage depending on what level of experience the person receiving the yarn or fiber has regarding wool care and washing.

If a fiber contains stellina, angelina, or silk it will have a pretty but subtle sheen to it.
